Happy Holidays!

Hello Friends! I am in PA with the folks for the holiday season! Christmas was nice and relaxing. I got a brand new purple (think bright) coat that will keep me warm in Korea. I'll take a picture of it soon enough, I am sure. It has been pretty warm here in PA, today I didn't even wear a coat when I went outside. It was almost 50!

It has been pretty uneventful here. I have been working on two scarves. One for Harland (don't worry - he already knows about it) and one for Amy. And today I bought more yarn for a project for Susan (I can't say any more than that since she's always on here reading this and her project is top secret). So that is what is between me and boredom.

It sure is a nice change of pace from the last few days of moving!! That was the worst. If it wasn't for Susan, Brig, Troy and John F. I would have been in serious trouble.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, or are currentlly having a wonderful Hannakah or Kwanza. And I am sure we are all looking forward to the new year! I certainly am - less than 3 more weeks until I see Harland! Wheeeeeeee!

walking in winter white

Well, not the kind that they have in Pennsylvania right now. I just finally finished all my shredding for the last 3 years. Yikes. Who knew it would add up to so much? But anyway - one more thing done on the "big list of tasks"!

Only about 500 more to go! This weekend will be the last packing weekend, and then all I have to do is take in the car on Monday.
Whew.

The Date Is Set!

Okay - Harland bought the plane ticket from the on base travel agency! Looks like I am leaving on the 13th of January. Please don't remind me that it is friday the 13th. Luckily Koreans think the number 4 is bad luck, so really 13 is a fine day to travel on a KOREAN airline. (That is my theory and I am sticking to it) I will arrive around 7pm Korean time on the 14th. Don't expect me to post on here until that monday.

The only drag is I have to fly from Philly to ATL before heading to Korea. That makes for one long day since I never seem to sleep well on planes. This time I am debating on taking Tylenol PM. If you have tried that, let me know. I never took Benedryl because that always dries up my sinuses and I already get pretty dehydrated on planes.

I'm also going to take some knitting, so that is cool. It'll keep me busy if I have already seen the inflight movies (which is very likely since I have seen a lot of movies this fall). Anyway - having tickets makes this trip seem real. Like it actually will happen.

Well off to pack up my office! Cheers!

Just for you

I thought I would try and post a picture to satisfy those who keep checking back on my blog.

If you are checking out this blog before I go to Korea, I say "yeah to you!" You're awesome for keeping up on it. Your reward is a picture from Gyeonbokgung Palace. Gyeongbokgung was the main palace during the Josen Dynasty (which occured from 1392-1910).

The
Gyeonghoeru pavilion is where official banquets were held and is pictured above. When I was there the water was iced over. I borrowed this picture from Teresa, my sister-in-law.
If you are interested in seeing more of the palace, here is a website that has some pretty pictures.

I am getting a lot more excited about going on my trip - soon the semester will be over and I will be on my way (or on my way to being on my way!!) I re-read my journal from when I went over last winter, and that just perked me up. Lately I have been a little down from the stress of packing up - so it nice to be getting excited again!
